House Rules is a competitive beer-pong ranking app: you log matches during a session and build a global ELO rating. Need a hand, hit a bug, or want your data removed? You're in the right place. Most answers are below, and a real person reads the support inbox.

01Common questions

How do I create an account?

Open House Rules and tap Create Account. Pick a username, enter a contact email and a password, and complete the quick bot-check. That's everything we need: no real name, no phone number.

How do I add friends?

Go to the Friends screen and search for a player by username, then send a friend request. Once they accept, you'll see each other's ratings and can pull each other into sessions more easily.

How do I record a match?

Start or join a session, then tap Record to log a game: set the teams and enter who won. Your ELO rating and match history update automatically, and the leaderboard reflects the result right away.

How do I invite people to a session?

From inside a session, tap Invite and choose the players (or share the session invite). They'll get an invite they can accept to join and start logging games with you.

Why did my rating change after someone else's match?

House Rules uses a global ELO system, so results ripple through the rankings. When opponents you've played gain or lose rating, the standings shift around you. This is expected and keeps the leaderboard competitive.

How do I report a problem or bug?

Email blake@blakehupalo.dev with a short description of what happened, your username, and your device and iOS version. A screenshot always helps.

02Deleting your account & data

You can delete your account at any time, directly in the app:

When you delete your account it is anonymised: your username and identity are removed, you can no longer sign in, and your friend connections are removed. Your past matches are retained in anonymised form because they're part of other players' competitive records and ELO history, so removing them would corrupt other people's ratings.

If you can't reach the in-app option, or you want your data handled differently, email blake@blakehupalo.dev from the address on your account and we'll take care of it.

03Privacy

House Rules collects deliberately little (a username, a contact email, and your match history) and contains no third-party advertising or tracking. For the full details, see our Privacy Policy.
